Suspend Your Penalties

Not very well publicised is the facility that HMRC have to suspend penalties for careless inaccuracies in returns.

There is pleasing logic in this in that HMRC are allowed to let you off if you can get them to agree that you will change your behaviour over the suspension period and that will encourage you to be compliant.

Definitely worth looking at when circumstances fit.
